• **Toilet flushing weakly and gurgling** — a partial blockage further down the line or a blocked vent, common in older terrace houses.

Safe checks: reading the meter with all taps closed, cleaning a tap aerator, cleaning the sink trap with a bucket underneath, and switching off the heater breaker before touching any wet fitting.

Stop and call us if water is dripping from a ceiling light, a ceiling is sagging, the main pipe is spraying, you smell burning near the heater, or a blockage affects more than one drain at once. These are not DIY situations.
